A clear read on one key hormone
Testosterone
Testosterone matters well beyond muscle. It plays a part in energy, mood, concentration, libido and bone strength in people of all genders, and its level naturally shifts with age, sleep, stress and health. This test measures your total testosterone: a single, clear figure that gives you and your doctor a place to begin.
It can be a useful check if you have noticed persistent tiredness, low mood, reduced sex drive or difficulty maintaining muscle, or want to understand your baseline. A single result rarely tells you everything, so your report puts the number in context and suggests whether a broader hormone panel might be worth considering.
Your sample is a straightforward venous draw taken in our private Leigh-on-Sea clinic and analysed by an accredited UK laboratory, with your result reviewed and explained in a doctor’s report.
Preparation: Book a morning appointment where possible, as testosterone levels peak before around 10am. No fasting is required. If you take any hormone medication or supplements, note this for your report.

About this test
Testosterone follows a daily rhythm and is highest in the morning, so an early draw, ideally before 10am, gives the most representative reading and makes results easier to compare over time.
It is a strong starting point. Because levels vary from day to day, your doctor may suggest repeating the test or adding markers such as SHBG for a fuller picture if your result or symptoms warrant it.
Your doctor-reviewed report is typically ready within 5–7 working days of your sample arriving at the laboratory.
