The gland that sets your pace

Thyroid Function

£79+ £25 blood draw per visit, however many tests you book3 biomarkersResults in 5–7 working days

Your thyroid sets the tempo for almost everything your body does. When it drifts, even slightly, energy, weight, temperature, skin, sleep and mood tend to drift with it. This panel measures the system’s three key signals: thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), free T4 and free T3.

Taken together, these markers offer a clear first picture of whether your thyroid is underactive, overactive or comfortably on pace. Your sample is drawn in our private Leigh-on-Sea clinic and analysed by an accredited UK laboratory, with every result reviewed and explained in a doctor’s report.

If your results suggest an autoimmune cause may be involved, the Thyroid Function with Antibodies panel looks one layer deeper.

Preparation: No fasting required. If you take thyroid medication, book your draw before your morning dose where possible and note the timing for your report.

About this test

  • Whether your TSH, free T4 and free T3 sit within their reference ranges, with a doctor’s comment explaining the picture they paint together and any sensible next steps.

  • Most reports are returned within 5–7 working days of your sample reaching the laboratory.

  • If autoimmune thyroid disease runs in your family, or symptoms persist despite normal hormone levels, the Thyroid Function with Antibodies panel adds that layer.
