Understanding a natural change, clearly
Menopause
The transition through perimenopause and menopause is a natural stage of life, but the symptoms can be confusing and easy to mistake for other things. This panel reads the hormones central to that change, follicle stimulating hormone, luteinising hormone and oestradiol, alongside progesterone, to help you understand the picture behind how you have been feeling.
Because thyroid changes can mimic menopausal symptoms, we also check TSH and free T4, plus testosterone and SHBG for a fuller hormonal view. Your sample is a single venous draw taken in our private Leigh-on-Sea clinic and analysed by an accredited UK laboratory, with every result reviewed and explained in a doctor’s report.
Because a single snapshot cannot capture the day-to-day ups and downs of your hormones, your report weighs your results against your symptoms and explains exactly that. It is information to feel more in control with, and a clear basis for any conversation with your GP about support, HRT or whatever next steps feel right for you.
Preparation: No fasting is required. If you are still having periods, note the timing of your cycle for your report, as this helps with interpretation. Please avoid biotin supplements for two days beforehand, as they can affect some hormone results.

About this test
Hormone levels naturally fluctuate, so results are best read alongside your symptoms and cycle rather than as a single verdict. This panel gives a clear picture to discuss, especially where symptoms persist.
Thyroid changes can cause symptoms very similar to menopause, such as fatigue, mood changes and weight shifts. Checking TSH and free T4 helps tell the two apart.
Most reports are returned within 5–7 working days of your sample reaching the laboratory, reviewed and explained by a doctor.
